Alison Thompson

CEO

Borealis Geothermal

Having lived in France and worked in the USA and Canada along with travel to dozens of countries has provided me with perspective that I bring to the workplace. I enthusiastically lean into Borealis’ B Corp certification and Best for the World designation and use the company as a force for good. I’m proud that Equal by 30 globally recognizes Borealis’ diversity and inclusion leadership and was honoured to become a Purposeful50 nominee. I have dedicated a substantial part of my career to demonstrating that Canada doesn’t have to choose between the economy and environment.

In addition to my role at CanGEA, I am also on the boards of Métis Settlements Economic Development (MSDC), Borealis Geothermal, and Kitselas Geothermal.

We gratefully acknowledge the original territories of the Siksikáwa, Îyârhe Nakodabi, and Tsuut’ina Dene, of Mohkínstsisakápiyoyis, Wincheesh-pah, Kootsisáw, or the colonized lands which many now refer to as Calgary, where the Energy Futures Lab is headquartered. These Lands are also home to members of the Métis Nation of Alberta under the Otipemisiwak Métis Government — District 4 & 5, whose peoples have deep relationships with the land. This reminds all of us to walk in a good way and remember our commitments to Indigenous Peoples.
